Life On The Trail

During the summer after graduation, I hiked the Appalachian trail, which is a 2,190 mile hiking trail that spans from Georgia to Maine. Although it was daunting at first, this was possibly one of the best adventures of my life. Not only was I able to see breathtaking views, but I also was able to connect with other hikers and make some lifelong friends along the way. There was amazing food (though anything tastes good after hiking for awhile), and even had some close calls with some animals. However, this trip wasn't without it's challenges. The terrain, steep inclines, and the weather made some days harder than others. But pushing through these challenges helped teach me that no matter how hard something is, there is always some peak, that it won't last forever. I wasn't able to make any money during the first summer out of school, but I don't regret my decision in the slightest. If anyone gets the opportunity for a trip or an adventure, I highly recommend to take it. Don't be afraid to take a gap year or a bit of a break, I guarantee 5 or 10 years down the line, you won't regret it. I know I won't.
