Students of the Week

(Fall 2017 and Spring 2018)

March 23, 2018

Our fourth ambassador of the week for Spring 2018 is Bryanna Lexus Freitas.

Bryanna is a second-year Chemistry major. She chose Chemistry as her primary major because she loves science and believes that chemistry is the central of all sciences, also according to her “it rocks”.

Bryanna has been part of the STEM Ambassadors Program for two years now. She became a member because “it is a supportive program that will help me in my STEM career”. Bryanna’s favorite part of the program experience is by far working in a research lab. She got matched with the Gerson Lab through our program. The lab’s interests lie in the field of integrative eco-physiology but the research is focused primarily on the environmental physiology of birds.

Bryanna was recently accepted to the American Chemical Society Summer Schools in Nuclear and Radiochemistry, and has decided to attend this summer. After Graduation, Bryanna wishes to pursue a degree in medicine, or possibly working towards a graduate degree in Chemistry.

Outside of STEM AP, Bryanna Is part of the American Chemical Society, she volunteers at Hasbro Children Hospital, and she teaches religious education at the Newman Center for extracurricular activities. On a more fun note, Bryanna is a dual citizen and owns a hedgehog!!

Congratulations Bryanna!
